COVID-19 is affecting individuals and families all across the country. According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, Ohio’s unemployment rate is at 10.9% as of June 2020. With about 11 percent of individuals faced with unemployment, families are struggling to find meals.
FreeStore FoodBank is an organization making a difference in our community by providing meals to individuals and families during these difficult times. In response to COVID-19, there has been a surge of people seeking support from this organization.
Since social distancing is still in place, our team at
O’Connor, Acciani & Levy joined this effort with FreeStore FoodBank to raise awareness about food security and raise funds through an online virtual food drive. We asked individuals to donate to our FreeStore FoodBank campaign, for every dollar raised our team matched their donations.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event! Whether you helped share our campaign information or donated to our food drive, every little bit helped and we could not have done it without you. With all donations combined, we were able to raise $1,000 and helped to provide 3,000 meals to individuals in our community.
