Cincinnati Onglyza Lawyer

Please be advised that O’Connor, Acciani & Levy are no longer accepting cases for Onglyza.

Onglyza, which is also known by the generic name Saxagliptin, is a popular type 2 diabetes medication that has been linked to an increase of heart failure, pancreatitis (painful swelling of the pancreas) and pancreatic cancer in diabetic patients.

If you or someone you love has experienced these side effects, you may be entitled to compensation with the help of a Cincinnati Onglyza lawyer. Contact our experienced team of defective drug attorneys today for a free, no obligation consultation. We work on a contingency fee basis and do not get paid unless you do.

DANGEROUS ONGLYZA SIDE EFFECTS

Recently, officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requested the results of an Onglyza side effects study which was conducted by the drug’s manufacturing company, AstraZeneca. The 2013 SAVOR outcomes trial included an evaluation of more than 16,000 diabetes patients hospitalized for heart failure.

The study revealed the following conclusion:

  • Diabetic patients taking Onglyza were hospitalized for heart failure nearly 30 percent more often than patients who were not taking the medication.

In 2015, a preliminary review of data by the FDA revealed that Onglyza may be associated with an increased risk of death.

Some further distressing information from medical journals and the FDA also revealed the following:

  • Incretin mimetic diabetes medications, such as Onglyza, encouraged the formation of abnormal pre-cancerous cells in the pancreas according to a study published in the medical journal, Diabetes, in March 2013.
  • Onglyza may cause severe, disabling joint pain in some diabetic individuals. In the same drug safety announcement, the FDA revealed that about 10 cases reported fever, chills, rashes and swelling, which suggested an immunological reaction to DPP-4 inhibitors, which is the class of diabetes drugs Onglyza falls under.

If you or a loved one has experienced heart failure, pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer or any other potentially deadly Onglyza side effects, we can help.

Contact our experienced Cincinnati Onglyza attorneys today. We will help determine if you are eligible to join a class action lawsuit, and we will help ensure you receive the financial compensation you deserve.

For more information regarding your legal rights and options, contact the law offices of O'Connor, Acciani & Levy and ask to speak with one of our knowledgeable personal injury attorneys.
