Japanese automotive giant Nissan has just released details on a recall that may affect more than 900,00 of their vehicles. The problem stems from a software issue that prevents the airbag systems from recognizing that an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. Without knowing this, the airbags may not deploy in the event of an accident. While the company is in the process of notifying vehicle owners, dealers have been instructed to perform the software update free of charge which is expected to begin in mid-April. The list of affected vehicles includes:
- Nissan Pathfinder (2013-2014)
- Nissan Altima (2013-2014)
- Nissan Sentra (2013-2014)
- Nissan Leaf (2013-2014)
- NV200 Taxi (2013)
- Infiniti QX50 (2014)
- Infiniti JX35 (2014)
