O’Connor Acciani & Levy Proudly Sponsors the 23rd Ohio River Paddlefest

A Weekend of Adventure and Community Spirit

The O'Connor Acciani & Levy law firm is thrilled to sponsor the 23rd annual Ohio River Paddlefest on Saturday, August 3, 2024. This highly anticipated event, celebrated for bringing together outdoor enthusiasts from Ohio, Kentucky, and beyond, is the largest paddling event in the nation.

As a law firm with deep roots in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, O'Connor Acciani & Levy is deeply committed to enriching the lives of local residents through various community programs and initiatives. Paddlefest, which not only promotes an active lifestyle but also supports a meaningful cause, aligns perfectly with the firm’s values of community engagement and support.

The Paddlefest Experience

Organized by the Cincinnati-based nonprofit group Adventure Crew, Paddlefest has become a highlight of the summer for thousands of paddlers each year. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Ohio River, this vibrant summer event features 2,000 kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) gliding through the water.

This year's festival promises to be as exhilarating as ever, with two distinct paddling routes catering to paddlers of all skill levels. Participants will launch into the river at Schmidt Recreation Complex in the East End and paddle west, gliding past the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky skylines.

Ohio River Paddlefest

The main event, a nine-mile paddle, will wind its way through downtown Cincinnati and culminate at the Gilday Recreation Complex in Riverside. There, paddlers will be greeted at the Finish Line Festival, which will feature a live music lineup, an array of food trucks, and other attractions.

For those seeking a shorter adventure, the 4.5-mile Paddlefest MINI concludes at the Public Landing in Downtown Cincinnati.

Outdoors for All Expo: A Free Community Celebration

The excitement really begins on the evening of Friday, Aug. 2, with a free Kickoff party and Outdoors for All Expo from 4:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Schmidt Recreation Complex. This free community event, open to everyone, is designed to celebrate all things outdoors. Attendees can see more than 50 exhibitors, including local parks, outdoor outfitters, adventure experts, and environmentally focused organizations.

The Expo will feature hands-on demonstrations, live performances by local artists such as Maria Carrelli and Ma Crow, and numerous activities suitable for all ages. With raffles, MadTree beer, and an assortment of food trucks, the Expo provides a fun and engaging way to kick off Paddlefest weekend.

Supporting Adventure Crew: The Heart of Paddlefest

Paddlefest is organized by Adventure Crew, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting city teens in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky with nature through exciting outdoor adventures. Adventure Crew’s mission is to foster a deep connection between young people and the natural world, creating opportunities for them to explore, learn, and grow.

Since its inception in 2013, Adventure Crew has expanded its reach to 27 schools across the region, impacting nearly 1,000 students each year. The organization offers free outdoor adventures, gear, and transportation, ensuring that all participating teens can experience the wonders of nature without financial barriers.

Paddlefest is a major Adventure Crew fundraiser that helps fund the organization and supports its commitment to providing enriching and deeply meaningful outdoor experiences for local youth.

O'Connor Acciani & Levy believes in Adventure Crew's mission and understands the value of its youth programs and special events like Paddlefest, which not only help our community's children but also enhance the entire Cincinnati tri-state area.
