A head-on collision on Lakeview Circle on Thursday night left one person in critical condition and sent four others to the hospital. The crash occurred when a Toyota Corolla crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet sedan head on. Emergency responders had to cut open the Toyota to free the driver, who was transported to UC Medical Center in critical condition. The Chevrolet driver and the three passengers in the Toyota suffered injuries and were taken to UC Medical Center for treatment. The Toyota hit another car driven by the girlfriend of the Chevrolet driver, but she did not suffer any injuries. The Toyota narrowly missed hitting the car in front of the Chevrolet, which was transporting a mother and her three children. The mother doubts she or her children would have survived a collision with the Chevrolet. According to investigators, the Toyota may have been traveling at twice the posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour.
